Turner & Company has a pedigree dating back to 1957 with the establishment of an office by Bernard Thorpe & Partners in Maylord Street, Hereford. The office relocated to Thorpe House in the early 1960’s and operated as a truly general practice firm of surveyors for many years. In the early 1990’s Bernard Thorpe & Partners merged with Debenham Tewson & Chinnocks to form DTZ Debenham Thorpe. In 1999 Jon Turner purchased the commercial property practice from DTZ to establish Turner & Company.

 

With effect from 2007 Tim Reed purchased half of the business, and subsequently completed the purchase of the remaining half share in 2010.

 

Turner & Company’s primary area of operation is the county of Herefordshire, but also working into Shropshire, Mid Wales, Worcestershire, Gloucestershire and parts of Gwent. In addition, Turner & Company have undertaken both development advice and landlord & tenant work throughout the U.K.

 

Tim ReedTim Reed

Tim Reed is the director in charge of Turner & Company and has primary responsibility for valuations, property management and rating advice.

 

Tim went to South Bank Polytechnic to obtain a BSc degree in estate management and after a sandwich year in the District Valuer and Valuation Office in Hackney, worked for Bernard Thorpe in the West End. Subsequent to this he joined the Hereford office of Bernard Thorpe at the end of 1988, qualified as a chartered surveyor in 1990 and became an Associate Director of DTZ Debenham Thorpe in 1998. Tim completed the acquisition of Turner & Company in 2010.

 


Jon TurnerJon Turner

Jon Turner is the consultant/director with primary responsibility for agency matters, compulsory purchase and development advice.

 

Jon was in the regular army for ten years before training and qualifying as a chartered surveyor with the District Valuers Office in 1980. Subsequent to this he worked for seven years at Knight Frank & Rutley’s Hereford office before joining Bernard Thorpe in 1987 and becoming a partner. Jon became a director of DTZ Debenham Thorpe subsequent to the merger in 1993 and purchased the commercial property consultancy side of the business from DTZ in 1999.
